Hello!

Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Curtis Winchester and I am a licensed Salesperson with Howard Hanna | Rand Realty, working out of the White Plains office. I lived in Port Chester, NY for 45 years  and I currently live in Hopewell with my wife and fellow agent Lotte Winchester. I have been a mobile DJ since 1981 and have been singing with local bands since 1985. As a DJ, I have  performed for many events from weddings, anniversary parties, Barbeques, themed parties, birthdays, block parties and fundraisers as well as local night club gigs! I started  spinning with vinyl records, then the medium changed to Cd's and I changed  with it. And then things went digital, and yes, I kept up. I love spinning and I know I always will!

Interestingly enough, I started singing with local bands after a friend heard me singing along to a song we were dancing to at a company Holiday party and convinced the bandleader to get me up to sing in front of my co-workers (no pressure). Kind of nervously I got through it and although I was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, that audience gave me my first round of applause. (That's the hook, right?!) So, many of my co workers insisted that I find a band to sing with so they could come out to hear me sing. That started the journey of Curtis the vocalist. While my love for the DJing is what started my music endeavors (I mean, who doesn't love a good mix!) But the singing has gotten me so much personal satisfaction and opportunities. I've been in bands that opened for a handful of artists I never thought would happen to me, like the "King of the Blues" B.B. King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Blue Oyster Cult and Michael Bolton.  I got to share the stage with NY Yankee legend and musician, Bernie Williams on a few occasions. A lot of those opportunities came when I got to meet local guitar hero, Gil Parris from Ardsley, NY. After a mutual fan was at one of my shows, he insisted that I meet Gil and have him sit in (something at the time I was very reluctant to do, but I actually trusted this fan) So that was the first time I heard him and he was great. So, I went to see his band one night at a spot close to me at the time and his band was amazing! I was blown away and I am not generally. So he liked what I added and asked me onto some gigs and before you know it, I'm a regular on his shows. Next thing you know, a mutual friend reaches out to ask Gil and I to run and host a musicians jam session in White Plains that we agreed to. And, I'm not gonna lie, both Gil and I thought that this would last for a short while. I mean it was on a Wednesday, other spots were doing music on the weekends I mean, who's coming out on Wednesday?! So that was in 2005 and it started at the Lazy Lounge and moved to Ron Black's Beer Hall in 2014 and we now boast the Longest Running Jam in Westchester County. I continue working with Gil, I also work my own band and perform with Rob Wallis' Rhythm Method Band!

The pandemic changed my life overnight. I was working my print job as lead pressman at Alphagraphics in Greenwich, CT, 20 years on the J-O-B, but a new owner in January 2020 then, the shut down, was "furloughed" and never called back. At the same time, every gig on the calendar disappeared overnight. No longer sure of working for another printing company, I decided to turn myself towards a real estate career. Which, after thinking about it, actually brings me back to my field of study in a way. In my first high school (Hempstead, NY) which at the time was 9th grade and one of the classes I was able to opt for was drafting/architecture classes. Turned out to be one of my favorites. So when we moved to Port Chester their High school started at 10th grade so I continued those classes mostly with upper classmen and in my senior year because of my early start on the subject my school created a new advanced class on the subject. This study led me to a job in the drafting field part time job at Empire Brush in Port Chester during my last semester that turned full time when I graduated. So doing Real Estate now feels right for me. I understand house construction and can still read a blueprint!

I look forward to hearing from you!
